Rates starting at $20/hr and above depending on your trade, skills, and experience. Special certifications (forklift, rigging, OSHA) earn more.

Worker FAQs

Do I need prior experience?

Not always. Many of our positions are entry-level. For skilled trades, events, or forklift work we do require relevant experience or certifications.

How quickly can I start working?

After your application is reviewed and approved by our dispatch team, you can often be placed on a shift within a few days — sometimes the same week.

Do I need to apply in person?

No. You can apply online through this form or fill out our PDF application. However, you're always welcome to stop by our San Diego office, Located at: 1244 Knoxville St, Mon–Fri 9AM–5PM.

Do I need my own tools or equipment?

For most general labor and event positions, no. For skilled trade roles, having your own basic hand tools is preferred. We'll let you know any requirements at the time of placement.

What if a shift gets cancelled last minute?

We do our best to give advance notice of any schedule changes. If a client cancels a shift same-day, we work to find you an alternative.

Can I work for multiple clients through Hands On Labor?

Yes. As an active worker in our pool, you may be offered shifts at different client sites. You choose which assignments you accept.
